Value and Worth

There is a snare that the enemy of our soul lays that
never seems to fail to entangle us. Actually we are
such easy prey in this area that he doesn't even
need a trap. Often, without the aid of any outside
influence or turmoil, this master of deception uses a
still small voice demanding we give an account. There
is not one of alive that is not very familiar with the
hateful accusation of that unseen finger pointing in
our face. Isn't it funny, no matter how many times
we've fallen for this, we still start numbering and
measuring. Let's see, this morning, yesterday, last
year..... and before you know it we've sealed our
tomb with intent to sit there until we finally die.
Of course we never die because our sweet Lord
always comes and carries us out before we can
even get hungry.
From the day of our birth the devil has cleverly
worked to convince us that the plans that have
been so wonderfully laid from the foundation of
all creation cannot be for us. Possibly for everyone
else on the but not us. We are of no value and
have no worth. He never has nor ever will miss
an opportunity to condemn us. If we aren't called
out on something we've done it's something we
haven't. It just goes on and on doesn't it?
As we think on these things let's keep in mind the
enemy's purpose. He knows he can't take our
salvation but when we get lost in our measuring,
God's grace is often replaced in our hearts with
His law. God's purpose in the law is not "goodness
for goodness sake". We aren't to provide for the
poor, care for the sick, imprisoned, widows and
orphans just because it's the good and right thing
to do. Rather, it is a violent attack on all the enemy
of man is about. We should do all that we do with a
firmly set heart intent on restoring value and worth.
Therefore, when that "whosoever" is told that
Jesus loves and died for them, they just might be able
to believe it.
"Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come,
you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the Kingdom
prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For
I was hungry'...." Matthew 25: 34-40
Let's go out today and catch each eye with a big, heart
felt, soul grabbing smile.
What a counter attack!!!!!
In His love
