On the TV show “Little House on the Prairie” there is a character named “Nellie Olson”. Beautiful little girl with a nasty attitude. You really don’t think of Nellie as being a pretty girl because of that attitude. She is never truly grateful for anything unless it is meeting her own selfish needs. “Laura Ingles” on the other hand is a cute little girl but becomes beautiful right before your eyes because of her grateful heart.
A grateful attitude or heart should be ours even when our own selfish needs are not being met. A grateful attitude is a sign of growth and maturity in our lives. Understanding and giving respect to our Father because of all He has done...is doing...and will do in the future. It shows that we trust Him no matter what the circumstances are.
What is your attitude? Take a good look. How do you see yourself? How do others see you?
If you
more than you
don’t loose heart...change it! Choose a grateful attitude. Rough circumstances will come and go. The attitude of your heart should remain consistent. Gratitude or thankfulness is a key part to the Christian walk. It is a natural result of letting Christ's peace take root in your heart.
Colossians 3:15-16 (Amplified) 15And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as [members of Christ's] one body you were also called [to live]. And be thankful (appreciative), [giving praise to God always].
16Let the word [spoken by] Christ (the Messiah) have its home [in your hearts and minds] and dwell in you in [all its] richness, as you teach and admonish and train one another in all insight and intelligence and wisdom [in spiritual things, and as you sing] psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making melody to God with [His] grace in your hearts. (having a grateful heart)
17And whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus and in [dependence upon] His Person, giving praise to God the Father through Him.
Love
Barbara
