Bloom

"Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, And come along. For behold, the winter is past, The rain is over and gone."


                                                  Daffodils are among my most favorite flowers. Daffodils grow out of bulbs, and like all other bulbs, are planted in the fall. 

They stay buried in the ground all throughout 
the winter, waiting patiently for the earth to thaw and for the sun to awaken them from their slumber. In this area, they are one of the first to bloom, and are heralds to all that spring has come and that God once again has proved faithful.


If you looked at a daffodil in its infancy, you'd see a sort of non-descript dried up lump with a few funny looking hair-like things sticking out the end. 

The bulb gives no indication of the beauty within. Beauty that is simply waiting for the right time and the right conditions to burst forth in a dazzling display of glory for the whole world to see.


The daffodils don't have to work at deciding what they're supposed to do.  All they have to do is bloom.


Ladies, this week is a special week for us as women of God.  This marks the week of the Passion of Jesus.  He walked steadily and unflinchingly toward his purpose, willing to die to His will and His desires, and to be buried so that on the third day, the full glory of the Gospel could be made known to the world. 

Are we willing to do the same?  Are we willing to let our plans and our kingdoms die so that we can reflect the Gospel?  We don't have time to worry about whether or not we're good enough, pretty enough, young enough or thin enough.  Those types of worries aren't real anyway, they're just smokescreens that the enemy sends up trying to distract us from our destination.  God has faith in us...He has planted us in good soil.  All we have to do is bloom.
