Who do we “work” for, really?
When I say “work” I do not mean just a place of employment, I am talking about the day to day business of our lives, the way you spend your time. Just living is work, a struggle to survive.
As a Christ believer my ultimate goal is to spend eternity worshiping the Almighty God. If my goal in this life is to reach this destination then how do I measure success in my journey? I believe that Col. 3:22-24 is a worthy goal. “Servants, do what you're told by your earthly masters. And don't just do the minimum that will get you by. Do your best. Work from the heart for your real Master, for God, confident that you'll get paid in full when you come into your inheritance. Keep in mind always that the ultimate Master you're serving is Christ.”
Is the journey easy? No. Anyone that told you that has given you false hope. The path we have chosen is difficult and full of surprising twists and turns. When I have reached the point of wanting to quit, or I start comparing my life to those around me, I remind my self of this challenge that Christ has given to each person that has placed their life in his hands. To honor those in charge of me on this earth is to honor my Creator. I believe it is a worthy goal to reach my destination.

I can't tell you how fitting this was for me right now. Of all the hours I have been putting in at work, I have to keep telling myself that it will all pay off somehow, some way. Thanks for the reminder and confirmation of who my real boss is. Loved it! Love you! ~Amanda B.
