Bruised but Not Dead

Behold, My Servant, whom I uphold;

My chosen one in whom My soul delights

I have put My Spirit upon Him;

He will bring forth justice to the nations.

He will not cry out or raise His voice,

Nor make His voice heard in the street.

A bruised reed He will not break

And a dimly burning wick He will not extinguish;

He will faithfully bring forth justice.

He will not be disheartened or crushed

Until He has established justice in the earth;

And the coastlands will wait expectantly for His law

I think these are some of the most beautiful verses ever written.  To me, it speaks most eloquently of the tender-hearted mercy that God has toward us even when we are broken and running on empty.

Today, when you get the chance take a moment for yourself.

Close your eyes and think on these verses.  Be reminded that the Lord is always with you regardless of how frazzled you feel or how lonely you may be.  His eye is always upon you, carefully guarding you, shielding you from the enemy.  And as long as there is any sort of life in you He is there, gently exhaling His life onto your smoldering heart until it once again bursts into flames of joy and passion for Him.  For a moment, lift up Your hands and give thanks for His patience, His kindness, His eternal love; and then go face whatever it is you have to face knowing that He is with You every step of the way.
