treasures

The other day I happened to overhear a woman say that the world is full of nothing but trash.  The trash this woman was speaking of was the unsaved people of the world.  When she said that, my heart became very grieved.  The Holy Spirit said those very people that so many "christians" look down upon as a waste of time, are His treasures.  He began showing me what I had forgotten.... Look at the life of Jesus.  Jesus was so passionate about those that the religious people considered worthless and a waste of time.  He sought them out to share His love and life with them.  They may not look like treasures now, but He sees what we don't. He sees the finished product.
And how can we forget that we were once that trash of the world before Christ changed our lives!  While we were still in our sin and our lives were messed up, Christ saw what we could be.
We cannot forget the whole reason Jesus gave His life on the cross for us.... it was to make a way for the "trash" to get to the Father.  While Jesus was hanging there, He saw each one of us in the world as His treasure.  Treasures that are priceless and worth everything to Him.
I pray that we will begin to see others through the eyes of God and not through the eyes of religion.
Thanks for letting me share my heart!
