Down In My Heart. Where?

Have you ever watched people? Have you ever been to the store, mall, your work, or home and watched people? How can you tell who is God’s Spirit filled people? What is the one thing the Devil steals from us so easily? JOY. The joy you show the world gives glory to God.

Not happiness. Happiness is from the world. It comes and goes. Not putting a smile on your face and going out the door. But true, pure joy. The kind that cannot be shaken. Joy does not depend on what is going on around us it depends on what is going within us. Let’s replace happiness with joy and watch our lives change.

We are all going through hard times. Nobody is exempt from that. But we need to look at our situations through God’s eyes and start making our hard times work for us not against us. Rejoice in what God is going to do instead of what He did not do or what He has not done yet. Praise God for the outcome. Focus on God’s glorious outcome. Relationship problems – outcome: a closer bond to that person. Work problems – outcome: learning more so you can get that promotion or better next job. Health problems – outcome: learning how to be a warrior.

Let’s praise God! Let’s be grateful! Let’s rejoice! Let’s celebrate! Let’s scream and shout! Then watch your Jericho come crashing down!

God, allow us to be more like Paul, who in prison did not lose his joy. Help us to have a heart and an attitude like his and remember that we are not living to enjoy our own circumstances or enjoy our own will but we are living to serve You.
