That's My Child

We take pride in many things in our life, not a sinful pride, but a joyous pride in the way we raise our children & their accomplishments, the way we appear , especially, for our spouse and our Lord .


So many times in our Christian life we have been told not to be prideful.....Why?.....yes, people can take pride in sinful and self seeking things but God takes so much pride in us, His children , His creation. Psalm 100:3 "Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are His; we are his people and the sheep of His pasture."


God, our Creator, takes pride in His workmanship. Whether we be fat or thin, old or young, blonde, brunette or redhead or if we are short or tall.....(in Ephesians 2:10)we are created in Christ Jesus for good works......works we can take pride in everyday as God the Father takes pride in us.


God delights in us and He says that many times throughout the Psalms. Psalm 139:15 he basically sculpts us from nothing into something and He does that with great pride.....the pride that a parent takes in everything their child does. When you see your baby take their first steps, sing in a Christmas play or graduate from college.....your heart swells with pride. God takes that pride we have to a whole new level.


Pride does define us somewhat, it is the way we look and act to others and it is the way of Father looks at us and says" THAT'S MY CHILD ! "
