Afliving in Florida for so long, one of my favorite things about being here is the seasons.  Watching the seasons change speaks so clearly to me of God.  Every season is beautiful, whether it is spring/summer with everything in bloom and new life springing forth or fall/winter when everything seems lifeless.  Even though winter may seem lifeless it is far from it.  There is rest, regeneration and growth going on, even if it is not seen.  It seems as if this past year has ter been a hard one for many in the body of Christ.  Many have said they felt like they were in a winter type of season.  It is so wonderful to be able to look at nature and see that God never leaves anything the same.  We are never stuck in a season.  Just like nature our season will change too.  For those who feel like they are stuck in a lifeless winter, be encouraged.  Look outside and see how beautiful it is.  Everything is covered with white, it looks fresh and pure.  Know that during the winter season in your life God is working things out to make you fresh and pure too.
Psalm 51 is like looking at someones life who is going through seasons.  At first David is asking God to cleanse him, to create within him a clean and a pure heart, to renew a steadfast spirit within him.  Later he says, restore to me the joy of your salvation and make me willing to obey.  THEN, I will teach Your ways to transgressors and they will return to You.
We have to go through the season of being refreshed, purified, restored and renewed.  This is like a fall/winter season.  Only after that can we enter into the fruitful seasons of spring and summer to give out what God has placed within us.
Be encouraged and embrace whatever season you may find yourself in.
