Put Your Garbage on the Curb

by Gwendolyn B. Garrett

Last week we had a snow and ice storm that paralyzed everything from the post office to the collection of garbage. After some much needed thawing, Tommy and I had to take a trip to Montgomery for Doctors appointments.
Along the way, we noticed that people had put their garbage on the curb and it was quiet a sight. Some had only one can with the lid neatly closed shut. Some were running over. Some had many cans and then there were many that had the can overflowing with lots of bags sitting all around. This got me to thinking!

When was the last time I put all my garbage on the curb. Now I am not talking about the normal garbage, paper, cans etc. What I am talking about is the garbage in my house such as pride, anxiety, unconfessed sin, unforgiveness , lack of faith, lack of compassion, lack of time in prayer, and not studying God’s word. Do you get the picture! God spoke to my heart and I began to collect my garbage.

Today I put the garbage on the curb. I John 3:20 NKJV, For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. Jeremiah 33:8 KJV, And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me. Finally, If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I John l:9 NKJV.

Do you need to put some garbage on the curb? You don’t even have to separate it, Jesus will pick it up and throw it into the depths of the sea, Micah 7:19.

May God Bless and keep each one of you.
