I Am because you are the great I Am and great is thy faithfulness.
A statement that marched around is my spirit as an anthem of praise, a profession of truth!
In exodus 3:13-14 Moses asked God what shall I tell the people when they ask me your name. He replied--I AM that I AM.
Two small words, I am. Two small words with an enormous impact. As I pondered God as the
I AM, He became:
Powerful enough to move mountains--yet intimate enough to breathe life into a baby.
Strong enough to hold in place the heavens--yet intimate enough to hold you in your darkest times.
Great enough to cover all time and space--yet intimate enough to be in the very DNA of Jesus Christ.
Larger than any of your circumstances--yet intimate enough to be in every detail of your life.
Like many, I was lead to ask myself…who am I. All my life I have been who I was expected to be or needed to be, such as a daughter, wife, mother. I now find myself in a season where the have to be’s are not as prominent. So who am I…the vastness overwhelmed me, and back to God I went. Asking Him…the I AM…who am I? At the core of my being…I am because He is the I AM.
God identified Himself to Israel many time as: I AM the Lord or I AM the Lord your God. He wanted His chosen people to know who He was and who He was to them. He Fathered Israel. He wanted His people to reflect a part of Him.
